A few months ago I spent the afternoon at Arlington's Section 60. I go there every so often to reflect, to try and make sense of what I went through in Iraq and to a lesser extent Afghanistan.
Iraq remains a milestone event in my life. It's on my mind every day. A touchstone to measure life now after going through some incredible extremes. The day I took this photo last October was no different.
This photo was made in between video set ups. I liked the flags around Dillon's head stone. I really wasn't looking at his name. I didn't until this morning actually. After some googling I came across this piece on NPR and this on the Washington Post.
He died in Iraq's al Anbar province on Oct. 29, 2005. He had just turned 20.
